Clara was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Farruggia; parents, Joseph and Rosalie Restivo; granddaughter, Toni Ann; her brothers, Steve, Joseph, Tony Restivo; sisters, Mary Gumina, Josephine Lacaia, Carrie Gumina, Libby Finocchario, Rose Cottone, Mamie Termini, and Jenny Ruta.

She is survived by her sons, David (Geri) of Retsof, N.Y., Vincent (Karen) of Jupiter, Fla., Ronald (LuAnn) of Gates, and Mark (Maggie Boyle) of Retsof; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Ciufo; brother-in-law, Al (Joanne) Farruggia; sisters-in-law, Lois Farruggia and Annie Farruggia; one aunt, Mary Grossi; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

ROCHESTER — M. Julietta Wolf-Foster died at home, surrounded by family, on April 16, 2013 at age 64.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John D. Wolf, a sister, Jane Wolf, her mother, Barbara Buckley Wolf, and father, Right Reverend Frederick Barton Wolf.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Foster, daughters, Emily J. Wolf (Kevin Mialky) and Catherine D. Wolf (John Doench), grandchildren, Samara and Ivan Wolf-Mialky and Charlotte Doench.

Following private interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester, friends may call on Saturday, April 27th, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Wolf-Foster home to celebrate Julietta’s life and spirit.

NUNDA — Ellen I. Thompson, age 80, died April 21, 2013 after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of Nunda, she was born June 11, 1932 the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Crane) Scott.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Dick) and infant son, Robert J.; also sisters, Mae, Daphene and Thelma.

She is survived by her children, Alan (Mitzi) Thompson, Kathy (Unnie Blair) Thompson, Darlene Essler, Doris Thompson, Barb (Eddie) Ellis and Brenda (Jerry) Stevens; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Friends may call Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the Mann Funeral Home Inc., 11 State St., Nunda. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Burial Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Vincent House of Wayland or the Nunda Ambulance.

GENESEO — Ethel Florence Rost, 95, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully and in the comfort of her home on March 29, 2013.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Rost in 1970.

Ethel is survived by her daughters, Linda Rost of Geneseo, Deborah (Tim) O’Mara of Geneseo, Karen (Granger) Zakerwski of Tucson; grandchildren, Kristin (Jeff) Johnston of Geneseo, Michael O’Mara of Rochester, Brooke (Dan) Kingston of Phoenix, Megan (Daniel) Borg of Seattle; great grandchildren, Caleb and Caroline Johnston; brother, Donald (Mary) Hebeler of  Orchard Park; sister, Ruth Skelly of Williamsville; and many nieces and nephews.

No prior calling hours. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo. A celebration of Ethel’s life will follow the Memorial Mass in St. Mary’s Parish Center. Private interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Geneseo.

GENESEO — Lee Ellen Fry, 55, of Huston Rd. in Geneseo, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Robin; son, Jacob (Cheryl) Fry of Batavia; daughter, Laura (Michael Quenell) Fry of Geneseo; grandchildren, Destiny and Michael Fry; father, Robert (Leona) Cooley of Corfu; brother, Jack (Mary) Cooley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; sisters, Jill Fry-O’Hare of Perry, Amy (Angelo) Callaro of Mount Morris; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was born December 22, 1957 in Rochester, N.Y. the daughter of Robert and Gertrude Munson Cooley.

DANSVILLE — Kenneth O. Johnston, 71 years, of Groveland Station Road, in Dansville, N.Y. died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Vincent House in Wayland.
He was born in Warsaw, N.Y., June 14, 1941 the son of Otis and Ruth Lindsay Johnston.

Ken is survived by his wife, Joeen Johnston; his sons, Kevin (Rebecca) Johnston of Liverpool, N.Y., and Jeffrey (Kristin) Johnston of Geneseo; his aunt, Helen Johnston of Livonia; four grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley, Caleb, and Caroline; his brother, Martin (Sharon) Johnston of Conesus; his sisters, Patricia Collister of Mount Morris, Collette McTarnaghan of Mount Morris, Valva (Robert) Bradshaw of Nunda, June (William) Mills of Dansville; special nephews, Mark Johnston of North Carolina and Brian Hiler of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Ivan and Robert Johnston; also his sister, Sheila Hiler.

MOUNT MORRIS — Anne L. Leyerle passed away peacefully on April 24, 2013 at age 88.

She had been a resident at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris, N.Y. for the past two years and eight months.

Anne’s surviving relatives include her husband of 61 years, William D.; a niece Anne Morrell of Chula Vista, California: and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Proffer of St. Louis, a brother Howard K. Proffer of San Diego and a sister Carol H. Barham of St. Louis

GENESEO — Marjorie Brook Harding passed away peacefully with family members and close friends at her side, Sunday, April 28, 2013.

Born in Princeton, N.J., in 1924, daughter of Harold and Lillian Mae (Van Pelt) Brook. Predeceased by her loving husband, Walter R. Harding, Distinguished Professor Emeritus at SUNY Geneseo and an internationally known Thoreau scholar.
Marjorie is survived by her loving children, David (Ruth) Harding of Albany, N.Y.; Allen (Kay Gainer) Harding of New York, N.Y.; Larry (Roo Lester) Harding of Woodridge, Ill.; and Sue (Bruce) Rawleigh of Rush, N.Y.; grandchildren, Carl, Jennifer, April, Sue Ann, Jon, Terri, and Courtney; and many great-grandchildren.

No prior calling hours. A celebration of Marjorie’s life was held at Central Presbyterian Church of Geneseo, 31 Center Street, Geneseo, N.Y., on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. A reception followed.

SANFORD, N.C./AVON, N.Y. — Robert L. Downing, 87, longtime resident of Sanford, N.C., passed away April 20, 2012, at Hillside Nursing Center in Wake Forest, N.C.
Bob was born and raised in Avon, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Downing who passed away in January of 2013. He is survived by his two children, Anne and Peter Maynard of Boyce, Va. and Robert and Darlene Downing of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Kimberly and Casey Maynard, Brittany and Alexandra Downing. Sister Jean Downing Batzing survives in Avon, N.Y.

A Memorial Service was held May 7 in Sandord for the Family.

Mary Claire Wilt (née Soranno)

Mary Claire Wilt (née Soranno) died peacefully Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2013, in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Elaine Maria Schwartz MD and Dr. Jan Arthur Schwartz MD, in Danville, Pennsylvania. Mary was 96?, the last survivor of Vincenzia (née Panico) and Francesco Soranno’s six children: Anne, Rose, Pauline, Rocco and Angelo (“Pete”).

Mary’s father remarried after the death of Vincenzia in 1925, and had two more children by his second wife, Angelica, Francis Fornaro (deceased) and Genevieve (“Jennie”) Munson.

Mary was born on January 6, 1917, in Morristown, NJ. Her parents had immigrated from Montescalioso, Italy, sailing on the Ancona from Napoli in March of 1913.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Chester.

Mary is survived by her three children, Guglielmo (AB, MS, JD), John (AB, Transoceanic Multi-Engine, Heavy), and Dr. Elaine Maria Schwartz, MD (pediatric surgeon, ret.) (Dr. Jan Arthur Schwartz MD (Anæsthesiology); 11 grandchildren: Bill’s children Sam (BA, MS) (Guy duT. Sliker, BA), Max C.F. Wilt (AB, August ’13), Hannah and Zoë; John’s son Billy (BS, June, ’14) and sisters Mollie and Alison; Elaine and Jan’s children Eben (MD) (Kate (BA)), Isaac (MD) (Elyse Michelle Leevan, June 9, 2013), Mollie (BS, MS), and David (MME, Lt.) (Joni, BA); great-grandsons Paul and Henry (Sam’s sons); and Eben’s daughter and son, Margot and Asa.

LIVONIA — Tom “Bucky” Buchanan, a devoted father, brother and friend to all, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home in Livonia at the age of 61.

Tom will be greatly missed by his loving son, Shawn Buchanan; brothers and sisters, James (Susan) Buchanan, Kathleen (David) Horne, Robert (Kathy) Buchanan, Margaret (Greg) Spillers, William (Louis DiNolfi) Buchanan, Andrea  Chichester, Christopher (Sandee) Buchanan, Michael (Gary Shelto) Buchanan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Hugh in 1993 and mother Katherine in 2001.

Tom was born on December 2nd, 1951 in Warsaw, N.Y. to Katherine and Hugh Buchanan.
